A. RUSSO IMPORTS JOINS A.J. LETIZIO SALES & MARKETING, INC.

A.J. Letizio Sales & Marketing of Windham, NH announced today that the company has reached an agreement with A. Russo Imports of East Boston, MA to acquire their business. Russo has been a strong, recognized player in the Supermarket and Foodservice Industry in Boston and cheese experts for three generations.
Tom Russo’s grandfather was importing cheese since in the 1890s and the family’s roots can be traced back to the family’s Cottage Street office in historic East Boston. Al Russo, Tom’s dad, grew to be a major importer of Italian cheese, and supplier to the greater Boston area. Al’s son Tom has carried on the tradition for 40 years and A. Russo Imports has been the leader in the Italian Cheese business in the greater Boston area. When the Auricchio family introduced BelGioioso cheese, Al and Tom Russo were the pioneers of this iconic brand of Italian cheese, along with the Auricchio family, whose Wisconsin company carried on the family multi-generation international legacy as Italian cheese experts.

After many years of service to the industry, Tom Russo will be transitioning his company’s operations to the A.J. Letizio family. The team at A.J. Letizio share a common legacy of multi-generational service in the food industry with the Russos and Auricchios, with the Letizio family tracing its roots to the family’s Italian market in Lawrence, MA in 1912. The A.J. Letizio team looks forward to serving Russo’s customers in his region and working with the Auricchio family to promote their incredible line of BelGioioso cheese products at foodservice and retail.

Al Letizio Jr., President and CEO of A.J. Letizio, comments, “Tom Russo has been a friend to me and our organization for many years and to be able bring our two companies together is a great feeling. Our companies are a perfect fit and the move is consistent with A.J. Letizio’s 20-year strategic plan.”
